Week 6 Update - 1st Eligible Teams!
After an eventful weekend which saw me evacuate my home leading up to hurricane Matthew, not having power/internet and cleaning up in the aftermath, the update for week 6 comes a little late. But, it is here!
Week 6 of the 2016 College Football season sees the first of many teams reaching bowl eligibility status.
Alabama Clemson Michigan Texas A&M Washington Western Michigan
The teams listed above have managed to go unscathed for the first six weeks of the season and have secured for themselves a spot in a post-season bowl.
Not far behind them are the following teams who are only 1 win away from securing their own spot:
Arizona State Baylor Boise State Houston Nebraska Ohio State South Florida Tennessee Utah Wake Forest
On the flip side of the coin, there are a few teams that are quickly approaching the limit of being statistically ineligible to making a post-season bowl. While it's possible for a 5-7 team to end up being selected for a bowl, that can only happen if there are no other 6-6 teams to select. With that being said, the following teams are 1 Loss away from becoming statistically ineligible:
Miami (OH)
With the conclusion of Week 6, 6 teams have become eligible and have claimed their spots in a bowl which leaves 74 spots remaining for the other 122 FBS teams left to fight over.
Until next week, keep fighting!
